A store sports store chain suffered from “islands of automation” – separate software applications running in different areas of the business.

They had a difficult POS solution, such that store managers had become POS experts and spent a lot of time with trainees who would often leave and have to be replaced. This chain’s profitability depends on responsive movement of stock between sites, especially during major sports events. Their retail solution was little help in balancing stock rapidly, since on-hand quantities had to be tracked one store at a time by phone.
